disability and ndis services

Everyone deserves to communicate and make choices

We use informal and established formal assessments to identify the communication strengths of our clients, with even the most severe communication disabilities. Through this we are able to provide strategies and supports for family and carers to make the most of their loved ones or client’s communication.

Our clients with disabilities often need advice on alternative communication devices. We have relationships with suppliers of specialised communication devices so that we can help you to trial what suits your needs. We have written many successful AT requests for our NDIS funded clients for alternative devices, including high end eye gaze devices.

Our clients with various disabilities often have swallowing difficulties so they find it difficult to take pleasure in food and drinks as part of the enjoyment of everyday life.  We carry out assessments in the home or group home so that everyone is comfortable with the process and all relevant people have input into the information we gather.

We have the experience to help you develop a Mealtime Management Plan that supports your safe enjoyment of food and fluids and reflects all aspects of your lifestyle and preferences. We are accredited to use The Dysphagia Disorder Survey* – a validated assessment for swallowing and feeding in developmental disability (*Justine Joan Sheppard).
